Covert Worry Into Concern

Leaders don’t help anyone by worrying. Worry is a misuse of their imagination. Practice upgrading your worry to concern. Then, once you state your concern, create your action plan to address it. If we respond to our problems in life by worrying about them, we will reduce our mood and energy, and lower our self-esteem. Being a worrier is hardly a powerful self-concept. It also is not inspiring to others when they see their leader worrying. Instead of worrying, imagine some action you could take now, something bold and beautiful inspired by the current so-called “problem.” Getting into that habit raises self-esteem and increases energy levels and concurrent love of life. People are more motivated by people in love with life than by people who worry about life. 𝓙áđž

Real Wealth 🊄

A popular speaker started off a seminar by holding up a ₹2000 note. A crowd of 500 had gathered to hear him speak. He asked, “Who would like this ₹2000 note?” 500 hands went up. He said, “I am going to give this ₹2000 to one of you but first, let me do this.” He crumpled the bill up. He then asked, “Who still wants it?” All 500 hands were still raised. “Well,” he replied, “What if I do this?” Then he dropped the ₹2000 Note on the ground and stomped on it with his shoes. He picked it up, and showed it to the crowd. The ₹2000 Note was all crumpled and dirty. “Now who still wants it?” All the hands still went up. “My friends, I have just showed you a very important lesson.  No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease in value.  It was still worth ₹2000.  Many times in our lives, life crumples us and grinds us into the dirt.  We make bad decisions or deal with poor circumstances.  We feel worthless.  But no matter what has...

Anulom Vilom: Everything You Need To Know About

What is Anulom Vilom? According to ancient yogic science, the foundation of all life forms is ‘prana’. Prana is the subtle energy that flows through our bodies and governs every movement that we make. Often referred to as the ‘life force energy’ or ‘vital energy’, prana is the energy that regulates our physical functions and consciousness. It comes into the body through food, water, air, and the energies that we absorb from the universe.  Our breath is considered to be the subtlest form of prana in the body that helps us heal, regulates our blood flow, helps our organs function optimally, and aids cellular growth. This prana distributes energy through the energy channels, also known as chakras.  That’s why breath control or pranayama is given utmost importance in yoga. Pranyama is the art of understanding, creating, and channelling this vital life force in our bodies. There are several types of pranayama, with each having its significance for our health. These include:  S...

Don’t chase happiness. Enjoy your life.

An old man lived in the village.  He was one of the most unfortunate people in the world. The whole village was tired of him; he was always gloomy, he constantly complained and was always in a bad mood. The longer he lived, the more bile he was becoming and the more poisonous were his words. People avoided him, because his misfortune became contagious.  It was even unnatural and insulting to be happy next to him. He created the feeling of unhappiness in others. But one day, when he turned eighty years old, an incredible thing happened. Instantly everyone started hearing the rumour: “An Old Man is happy today, he doesn’t complain about anything, smiles, and even his face is freshened up.” The whole village gathered together. The old man was asked: Villager: What happened to you? “Nothing special. Eighty years I’ve been chasing happiness, and it was useless. And then I decided to live without happiness and just enjoy life. That’s why I’m happy now.” – An Old Man The story...

The Black Dot •

One day, a professor entered his classroom and asked his students to prepare for a surprise test. They all waited anxiously at their desks for the exam to begin. The professor handed out the exams with the text facing down, as usual. Once he handed them all out, he asked the students to turn over the papers. To everyone’s surprise, there were no questions–just a black dot in the center of the paper.  The professor, seeing the expression on everyone’s faces, told them the following: “I want you to write about what you see there.” The students, confused, got started on the inexplicable task. At the end of the class, the professor took all the exams and started reading each one of them out loud in front of all the students. All of them, with no exception, defined the black dot, trying to explain its position in the center of the sheet. After all had been read, the classroom silent, the professor started to explain: “I’m not going to grade you on this, I just wanted to give you ...

The Way to Happiness🎈

A simple yet profound story which asks one to contemplate if life is being lived in the right way.  This lesson was by an anonymous teacher to the students that has taught lessons to people across all ages.  The story goes like this: A wise teacher once brought balloons to the school and told her pupils to blow them up.  She asked them to write their name on one of the balloons.  After the children were done writing the names, they tossed their balloons into the hall and the teacher mixed all of the balloons up so that none of the children could trace theirs easily.  Five minutes were given to the kids to find the balloon with their name on it. However, even after a frantic search, none of the kids could find their own balloon. The teacher then asked the children to pick the balloon that was lying nearest to them and give it to the person whose name was written on it. In less than two minutes, everyone was standing holding their own balloon. The teacher ...

The Power of Silence

Once a farmer lost his precious watch while working in his barn.  It may have appeared as an ordinary watch to others, but held a deep sentimental value for it. After searching high and low among the hay for a long time, the old farmer got exhausted. The tired farmer did not want to give up the search for his watch and requested a group of children playing outside the barn to help. He promised an attractive reward for the person who can find his beloved watch. After hearing about the reward, the children hurried inside the barn and went through and round the entire stack of hay to find the watch. After a long time looking for a watch in the hay, some of the children got tired and gave up. The number of children looking for the watch slowly decreased and only few tired children were left. The farmer gave up all his hope to find the watch and called off the search. Just when the farmer was closing the door, a little boy came up to him and requested the farmer to give him anoth...

Chand Baori : Ancient Step Well

Chand Baori Steps Chand Baori is said to be named after a local ruler called Raja Chanda. However, no epigraphic evidence has been found regarding the construction of the Chand Baori or the adjoining Harshat Mata Temple.  Based on similarities in style and carvings with the terraced temples of Paranagar and Mandore, the Baodi can be dated to 8th-9th century. It was likely constructed before the temple. The Chand Baori is one of the few stepwells that has "two classical periods of water building in a single setting", according to Morna Livingston in Steps to Water: The Ancient Stepwells of India. Best example of Geometrical Symmetry Chand Baori is a deep four-sided well with a large temple on the back face of the building. The basic architectural aspects of the monumental well consist of a long corridor of steps leading to five or six stories below ground level which can be seen at the site. This is glory of ancient India.

The Elephant Rope

A gentleman was walking through an elephant camp, and he spotted that the elephants weren’t being kept in cages or held by the use of chains. All that was holding them back from escaping the camp, was a small piece of rope tied to one of their legs. As the man gazed upon the elephants, he was completely confused as to why the elephants didn’t just use their strength to break the rope and escape the camp. They could easily have done so, but instead, they didn’t try to at all. Curious and wanting to know the answer, he asked a trainer nearby why the elephants were just standing there and never tried to escape. The trainer replied; “when they are very young and much smaller we use the same size rope to tie them and, at that age, it’s enough to hold them. As they grow up, they are conditioned to believe they cannot break away. They believe the rope can still hold them, so they never try to break free.” The only reason that the elephants weren’t breaking free and escaping from the cam...

Harvest the Rain, Reap the Grains and Live Without Pain

Water covers two-thirds of the surface of the earth. But fresh water is merely 0.002 percent on earth. For an economy where agriculture is the backbone, nearly 7% of working population depends on agricultural activities for their livelihood; monsoons seem to play a pivotal role. Majority of India’s population depends on cereal and pulses. Rainfall, therefore, significantly affects the  agricultural production of the country by providing water for the two main crop growing seasons, Kharif (summer) and Rabi (winter). Variations in the monsoon rainfall affect the total food grain yield of India and also the country’s economy. Rainwater harvesting seems to be the solitary option which is practically feasible in countering the growing menace of rapid water depletion. It is the technique used for collecting, storing and using rainwater for landscape irrigation and other uses. Trapping rainwater from the roofs and directing it into the underground tanks is a good practice for resid...

Story : MAKING A DIFFERENCE

My friend was walking down a deserted  beach at sunset. As he walked along, he began to see another man in the distance. As he grew nearer, he noticed that the local native kept leaning down, picking something up and throwing it out into the water. Time and again he kept hurling things out into the ocean. As my friend approached even closer, he noticed that the man was picking up starfish that had washed up on the beach, and, one at a time, he was throwing them back into the water. My friend was puzzled. He approached the man and said. “Good evening, friend. I was wondering what you are doing.” “I’m throwing these starfish back into the ocean. You see its low tide right now and all of these starfish have been washed up onto the shore. If I don’t throw them back into the sea, they’ll die up here from lack of oxygen.” Read  Another story ' be Careful what You plant' “I understand,” my friend replied, “but there must be thousands of starfish on this beach. Story : BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU PLANT

An emperor in the Far East was growing old and knew it was time to choose his successor. Instead of choosing one of his assistants or his children, he decided something different. He called young people in the kingdom together one day. He said, “It is time for me to step down and choose the next emperor. I have decided to choose one of you.” The kids were shocked! But the emperor continued. “I am going to give each one of you a seed today. One very special seed. I want you to plant the seed, water it and come back here after one year from today with what you have grown from this one seed. I will then judge the plants that you bring, and the one I choose will be the next emperor!” One boy named Ling was there that day and he, like the others, received a seed. He went home and excitedly told his mother the story. She helped him get a pot and planting soil, and he planted the seed and watered it carefully. Every day he would water it and watch to see if it had grown. After about th...

Story : True wealth

The Real Wealth One day a father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to the country with the purpose of showing his son how the poor people live so he could be thankful for his wealth. They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of what would be considered a very poor family. On their return from their trip, the father asked his son, “How was the trip?” “It was great, Dad.” “Did you see how poor people can be?” the father asked. “Oh yeah” said the son. “So what did you learn from the trip?” asked the father. We have a pool that reaches to the middle of our garden and they have a creek that has no end.” “We have imported lanterns in our garden and they have the stars at night.” “Our patio reaches to the front yard and they have the whole horizon.” “We have a small piece of land to live on and they have fields that go beyond our sight.” “We have servants who serve us, but they serve others.” “We buy...
